Get Your Solo License
In South Africa, tandem paragliding flights must be conducted as training flights under the supervision of a certified instructor. That’s why every flight with The Tandem Flight Co is officially registered and operated in line with Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) regulations.
If you’re inspired to go beyond the tandem experience, we also offer everything you need to begin your journey toward becoming a fully licensed solo paraglider. Our Basic License program—approved by the South African Civil Aviation Authority—is designed to be safe, fun, and accessible to all.
Memberships & Accreditations
The Tandem Flight Co is is approved by SANParks to operate tandem paragliding flights from Signal Hill. Additionally all pilots are registered with the South African Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (SAHPA).

At The Tandem Flight Co, safety isn’t just a promise—it’s our foundation. All of our pilots are highly experienced, with thousands of flights completed both in Cape Town and around the world. All pilots are carefully selected and independently contracted Tandem Flight Instructors. We are very fussy about the TFI pilots that we use. The pilot fee for your flight will be collected by The Tandem Flight Co on behalf of your pilot and paid directly to them. We also manage invoicing on behalf of your pilot.
We also invest in new equipment every year—including brand-new gliders—so you can fly with confidence knowing you’re in the safest hands and using the latest gear available.
